Learn Computer Vision

The Assembly hosted a workshop aimed at teaching Computer Vision. The concept of Machine Learning and Image Processing are perceived to be difficult and we showed our participants how it is, in reality, not difficult. Using simple software and the power of code, we showed how image processing – both moving and still – we can collect data that is meaningful, using a process that can be easily replicated.

At this workshop we covered:

  • The essential concept of Image Processing
  • Understand Computer Vision using open source software and simple hardware
  • Introduction to Make and Python – the building blocks for the OpenCV code
  • Exploring OpenCV libraries

By the end of the workshop, we taught our participants, how to use the basics of OpenCV
